Last updated: 28 October 2026

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of polecat.com (the "Website"). The Website is operated by Polecat Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 06058441, whose registered office is at Newminster House, 27-29 Baldwin Street, Bristol, England, BS1 1LT ("Polecat", "we", "us"). "Polecat" is a trading name of Polecat Limited.

By using the Website you accept these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Website.

These terms do not cover our subscription products (including PolecatX, Polecat Hub, and our API and MCP services). Those are governed by your organisation's agreement with us.

Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy also apply to your use of the Website.

2. Using the Website

You may use the Website for your own information and for evaluating Polecat's services. You must not:

  • use the Website in any way that breaks any law or regulation, or for fraud or any harmful purpose;
  • try to gain unauthorised access to the Website, its servers, or any connected system, or interfere with its operation (including by viruses, denial-of-service attacks, or circumventing security or bot-protection measures);
  • access the Website with automated tools in a way that ignores our robots.txt file, overloads our systems, or targets non-public areas (such as /auth or /admin);
  • extract data from our interactive demo or sector risk tools in bulk to build a competing product or dataset;
  • submit false information through our forms, or impersonate any person;
  • frame or mirror the Website, or suggest that we endorse you, without our permission.

Search engines and AI crawlers. We welcome search engines and AI crawlers and assistants (for example GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended). They may crawl and index the Website's public pages, and use them to provide search results, summaries and answers, in line with our robots.txt file. This permission does not:

  • extend to non-public areas;
  • license anyone to republish our content in full, or to present it as their own;
  • allow anyone to use our name, the Polecat™ mark or our content in a way that suggests Polecat endorses, sponsors or is affiliated with them, or with any output, product or service.

Summaries or answers generated by third parties are their responsibility, not ours.

We may suspend or restrict access to the Website at any time. We don't guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors.

3. Intellectual property

The Website and its content, including text, reports, white papers, data visualisations, indices, scores, software, design and logos, belong to us, our group companies or our licensors, and are protected by intellectual property laws. Polecat™ is a trade mark of Polecat Intelligence Limited (registered in Ireland, company number 467888), a Polecat group company.

You may view, download and print pages and publications for your own internal, non-commercial use, and share links to them. You may quote short extracts with clear attribution to Polecat and a link to the source. You must not otherwise copy, republish, sell or create derivative works from the content, or remove any copyright or trade mark notices, without our written permission.

Third-party names and logos shown on the Website (for example client or partner logos) belong to their owners. Showing them does not imply any licence.

4. Our insights and data: no reliance

The Website includes articles, white papers, briefings, interactive demos, sample dashboards, sector risk scores, forecasts and comparisons (together, "Insights"). They are:

  • provided for general information only;
  • based in part on automated analysis of publicly available media and online sources, which may be incomplete, inaccurate, out of date or biased;
  • not financial, investment, legal, regulatory, insurance or other professional advice, and not a recommendation to take or avoid any action, or to buy, sell or hold any security.

Scores, rankings and forecasts are model outputs and statistical estimates. They are not statements of fact about any organisation or person. Comparisons with other providers reflect our view at the time of writing.

You should not rely on Insights without making your own enquiries and taking appropriate professional advice. To the extent permitted by law, we give no warranty, express or implied, that the Website or any Insights are accurate, complete, current or fit for any purpose.

5. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales.

Subject to that:

  • we are not liable to you, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Website, or your use of or reliance on any content or Insights;
  • in particular, we are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, business, contracts, anticipated savings, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss;
  • we are not responsible for viruses or other harmful material that may infect your equipment because you used the Website. Please use your own virus protection.

The Website is intended for business users. If you are a consumer, you also have statutory rights that these terms do not affect.

6. Links to other websites

The Website contains links to third-party websites and resources, such as LinkedIn, news sources and partner sites. We provide them for convenience only. We have no control over their content and are not responsible for it, or for any loss arising from your use of them. A link is not an endorsement.

You may link to our home page or publications fairly and legally, but not in a way that suggests any association, approval or endorsement on our part that does not exist.

7. Information you submit

When you submit information through the Website (for example the contact form or a white-paper request), you confirm that it is accurate, and that you're entitled to share it. We use it as described in our Privacy Policy.

Please don't send confidential information through our website forms. Unsolicited ideas or feedback may be used by us without any obligation to you.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time by posting a new version on this page. Please check it regularly. The version in force when you use the Website applies.

9. General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. If we don't enforce a right, that does not waive it. These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about your use of the Website.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms, and any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with them or the Website, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in your local courts and to rely on mandatory local law.
