Cookie Policy
Effective date: 28 October 2026 Last updated: 28 October 2026
This policy explains how Polecat Limited ("Polecat", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on polecat.com. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data more generally.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels and scripts that send usage events, work in a similar way. We call them all "cookies" here.
- First-party cookies are set by the site you're visiting (polecat.com). Third-party cookies are set by another domain, such as linkedin.com.
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies last for a set period.
Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the EU ePrivacy Directive, we may use strictly necessary cookies without consent. We ask for your consent before using analytics or marketing cookies.
2. How our cookie choices work
- Before you choose: we use only strictly necessary cookies. We also measure site usage with PostHog in cookieless mode: nothing is stored on your device (no cookies, no local storage), your IP address is not stored, and the data is used only for aggregated statistics about how the site is used.
- If you click "Accept" (or turn on a category): we use the analytics and/or marketing cookies listed below.
- If you click "Reject": we use only strictly necessary cookies and cookieless measurement.

Other third-party content (no cookies)
Some images on our About us page are loaded from static.wixstatic.com (Wix). This shares your IP address and browser information with Wix, but sets no cookies. Our videos and fonts are hosted on our own domain. Links to hub.polecat.com (Polecat Hub sign-in) and LinkedIn take you to services with their own cookie policies.
4. Managing your consent
- Our banner: when you first visit, you can choose Accept all, Reject all, or Manage preferences by category (Strictly necessary, Analytics, Marketing). Strictly necessary cookies can't be turned off.
- Change your mind at any time: use the Cookie settings link in the website footer. Withdrawing consent stops future use, and we remove our own analytics cookies. To clear LinkedIn's cookies, use your browser settings (below) or LinkedIn's settings.
- Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a refusal of marketing cookies.
5. Controlling cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Site settings
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari (macOS): Safari → Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Safari (iPhone/iPad): Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data
- Chrome (Android): ⋮ → Settings → Site settings → Third-party cookies
You can also manage LinkedIn advertising preferences in your LinkedIn account settings. For more information, see ico.org.uk or dataprotection.ie.

We'll update this policy when we change the cookies we use, and revise the "Last updated" date.
